Ferdinand is Roma and from Albania. He was the first Roma to attend the Art School in Tirana and has since studied in France and has exhibited widely across Europe.

He speaks fluent Rromani, Albanian and also good English, French and some Italian and Polish. Ferdinand is based in London but willing to travel to provide art workshops for schools across the country.
Ferdinand is also interested in commissioned work.
He produced one of the Art Posters for the Gypsy Roma Traveller History Month and the Early Years Poster ‘ Welcome to the Carnival’. The Carnival poster and sets of the GRTHM posters are available from us.
He is currently working with schools providing a range of art activities and workshops for children and young people:
Ferdinand can also speak about his life as a Roma and also his wide knowledge of the different Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities he has met when living across Europe.
He has completed many works of illustration for books and publications on Roma in particular.
He provided all the illustrations for the ‘Open Roads Open Minds’ Travellers’ Storytelling Learning Resource’ and the new DVD ‘The First Traveller’, both available from www.grtleeds.co.uk

Leeds had a wide-ranging series of events and exhibitions to celebrate GRTHM 2008. The Gypsy Roma Traveller Achievement Service in Leeds approached the month with gusto, organising numerous, diverse events for everyone, from workshops in Schools to a Ceilidh night with storytelling and Traveller music.
